The Collection of Evidence (COE) is a state approved alternative assessment.
Students may submit a COE three times this year. For the 2011-2012 school year, the submission deadlines are January 11, 2012, April 25, 2012 and June 13, 2012. The January submission is only for 12th graders and those students who are eligible to submit an augmented collection; the April submission is for augmentation collections only; the June submission is for students in the class of 2012 or earlier only.
June 29th is the last day for eligibility issues to be resolved. All ineligible collections will be returned to the district, unscored. Students may resubmit the collections in January 2013. Districts are responsible for the return shipping of collections submitted for students who have previously met standard on the HSPE and for unscorable collections. For eligibility requirements students should talk to their school assessment officials.
COE is one of several options for completing the Certificate of Academic Achievement. For more information about other CAA Options, please see the CAA Options website at OSPI.
